WELCOME!
Hello To Our Valued Community, Welcome to the newly designed Greater Seattle Chapter of The Links, Incorporated web site. As you tour our web site you will find information about our Chapter members, our programs, and our service to the community past and present.

As the new incoming president of the Greater Seattle Chapter of The Links my goal is to work with a very talented group of African American women to Build A Stronger Community Through Friendship & Service by working collaboratively with our community.

There are 274 Links Chapters located in forty-two states, the nation’s Capitol; Frankfurt, Germany; Nassau, Bahamas; and South Africa. The Greater Seattle Chapter is one of the oldest chapters in the United States. The Greater Seattle Chapter was established in December of 1955 and over the past 52 years we have worked diligently to make the greater Seattle community a better place for African Americans to live, work and play.

The Links, Incorporated, is committed to organizing and supporting educational, cultural, and civic activities that enhance our community. Our national programs have provided enriching experiences for youth who are educationally disadvantaged and talented, as well as those who are gifted. Four program facets are the focal points of The Links’ activities: Services To Youth, The Arts, National Trends & Services, and International Trends & Services. Each chapter develops activities within these four program facets, carrying out The Links’ goal of purposeful service in their local communities.

Our program year, September 2007 - May of 2008 will be an exciting year for us, and we hope for the community as well. In addition to serving our community, Greater Seattle Chapter in collaboration with Tacoma, Portland, Tri-Cities, Anchorage, Spokane chapters will host The Links, 38th Annual National Assembly in Seattle, Washington, July 2-6, 2008. Links throughout our national and international organization will meet in Seattle to plan and develop new programs and policies focused on making our communities a better place for African American families.

On behalf of the Greater Seattle Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, thank you for visiting our new web site. Our plan is to keep you aware of our activities in the greater Seattle community throughout 2007-2008, so come back to our web site and stay informed.

Thank you and best wishes,
Gayle Johnson
President, Greater Seattle Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
